- Are your muscles and head feeling tight with stress? Your Center (www.yourcenter.us), a company offering a wide variety of alternative health therapies in a quiet and personal setting, has re-opened with new management at 10920 W. Alameda Ave. in Lakewood with new programs to relieve that stress. “The mission of Your Center is to provide a safe and comforting environment to assist people in finding balance, health and prosperity through the best education, meditation, aromatherapy massage, exercise and nutrition,” explains Kathy Farmer, co-owner of Your Center. “It’s all about finding your own center within.” Your Center also offers classes in yoga, a state-of-the-art vibration gym and a variety of therapeutic massage. “Eliminating anxiety and pressure in our fast-paced world may be idealistic but massage can help manage stress,” explains Farmer. “Our massage therapists all use high quality, therapeutic grade, Young Living essential oils. “Your Center has the most sophisticated vibrational exercise equipment in the area,” Farmer continues. “Using this equipment can help people with weight loss, osteoporosis, conditioning, rehabilitation and improve muscle strength.” People may use the gym, including the ROM trainer and vibration equipment, for the low, grand opening price of $22 per month. New 2009 Acupuncture Clinic “As a natural extension of our alternative therapies, we’re pleased to begin 2009 by offering acupuncture, traditional Chinese herbs, Shiatsu (Japanese pressure) massage and qigong (ancient Chinese exercise) with our newest practitioner, Michael Cooper,” Farmer says. Cooper is a national board-certified acupuncturist, Chinese herbalist and Shiatsu massage practitioner who is originally from Littleton. “My goal is to provide effective and nurturing treatment that is tailored to the needs of each patient,” explains Cooper. “I have a special interest and expertise in treating acute and chronic pain, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, GI disorders, skin conditions, stroke rehabilitation, male/female infertility, migraine headaches, dysmenorrhea and other women’s health issues.” In addition to offering personal one-to-one 60-minute consultations, Cooper will offer a community drop-in clinic from 9 a.m. to noon on Thursdays where he will see patients with any presenting illness in a group environment. Each patient will receive approximately 15 minutes consultation and 30 minutes of acupuncture and quiet time. Cost is $40 per session. Every Thursday, Cooper also will offer Crave Control Group sessions from 1-2 p.m. and 6-7 p.m. “Whether it’s to stop smoking or eating or control other cravings, acupuncture can be an effective and economical tool to help you,” explains Cooper. Cost is $200 for five sessions. In 2009, Tuesday is Meditation Night at Your Center. From 6 to 8 p.m. each Tuesday, various guest meditation leaders will host evenings to help participants ease their burdens, assist them on their path, or just help them them “chill”. Your Center is located on West Alameda Ave. about a half-mile west of Kipling, and is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. For more information about programs, classes and therapies offered at Your Center, visit www.yourcenter.us or call 303-989-1533. ### |
