Franklin, TN (April 27, 2007) - Health Access America (HAA) continues to provide hope for uninsured Tennesseans in the Hispanic community. That mission continues at the Cinco de Mayo Festival at Pinkerton Park sponsored by Against the Grain Ministries.
HAA representatives will be on hand to provide information and guidance about the value of insurance, available local coverage options and Tennessee's CoverKids program. CoverKids is a low-cost health insurance plan for Tennessee children.
The HAA nationwide campaign, sponsored by the Healthcare Leadership Council, was brought to Tennessee due to the high number of uninsured. HLC first initiated the Health Access America campaign in 2001 and made a major impact, disclosing research that changed public understanding regarding the face of the uninsured.
People can visit HAA at the event to talk to a representative about any insurance issues. The festival will also include authentic Latin American cuisine, arts, dancing, music and fun for the whole family.
HAA will participate in numerous community events throughout the summer and would like your help in getting the word out about this community initiative. Contact Mary Garber (919) 834-8431 with questions or to schedule an interview with an HAA representative.
